Leipzig is much more than just a trade fair destination
Leipzig is famous for its trade fair, which first appeared in 1497. The fair attracts thousands of exhibitors annually and over 1.3 million visitors from all over the world.
The city is home to a multitude of renowned universities and research institutes, including Leipzig University, the Leipzig University of Applied Sciences and the Helmholtz centre for environmental research. Property located amidst optimal infrastructure
All the city centre’s principal destinations are within a few minutes’ walk from the site. The famous Mädler-Passage is home to a multitude of exclusive stores, boutiques and cafés and is just one example of the fabulous retail arcades located within the city’s historic buildings.
The well-known restaurant Auerbachs Keller serving traditional Saxon cuisine is just five minutes’ walk away and is surrounded by a wide variety of bars, restaurants and cafés. Motorways
The A14 motorway is the east-west link: This motorway connects Leipzig with Dresden in the east and Magdeburg in the west.
The A9 motorway runs from Berlin in the north via Leipzig to Munich in the south.
The A38 connects Leipzig with Göttingen in the west, where it then continues on the A44 towards the Ruhr region.
The A72 motorway leads via Chemnitz and Zwickau Hof.
Trains and buses
Leipzig Central Station is a station of superlatives: around 1,300 trains arrive and depart here every day, used by over 120,000 travellers. More than 110 shops and catering establishments are spread over three floors. A dense network of trams and buses serves the city area every minute for 206 million passengers a year. There is also a well-developed network of regional trains and suburban trains that connect the city of Leipzig with other cities in Saxony and the surrounding regions.
Aeroplane
Leipzig/Halle Airport is the region’s international airport. It is located around 18 kilometres north-west of Leipzig and is one of the largest cargo airports in Europe. There are numerous connections from Leipzig/Halle Airport to national and international destinations.
